Our Babydoll Sheep
Our adult sheep are sheared and vaccinated annually. Deworming is only done if required on an individual basis. We have an annual on farm health flock evaluation done by our veterinarian. All of your sheep have clean bedding, fresh air, access to fresh water. home grown hay, free choice salt and loose mineral. When breeding and lambing time happens the sheep are given extra nutrition with a sheep pelleted feed that contains more vitamins, minerals and extra protein. All of our lambs have free access to a lamb creep feed that contains extra protein, minerals, vitamins. Lambs will be weaned at approximately 8 to 9 weeks of age. Before leaving the farm they will have had their tails docked, vaccinated and tagged with a CSIP ear tag.
Ewes
Our ewes are from a foundation flock of six. It was very hard to find these ladies back in the spring of 2011. We finally found two in eastern Ontario, two in south western Ontario and two in the Niagara region of Ontario. These ewes originated from the original registry, Olde English Babydoll Southdown Sheep Registry.
Since then our ewe flock has grown to 30 ewes with various lineages to be breed with unrelated rams
Rams
Our rams are from a foundation flock of two.
Both originated from the original registry, Olde English Babydoll Southdown Sheep Registry. One ram came from here in Ontario and the other from New Jersey.
We now have 5 breeding rams with lineages that can be breed to unrelated ewes.
